1Is the software compatible with Windows Vista? Top

Due to recent releases within Microsoft Windows, some minor modifications were required to our software to allow it to work correctly with Vista.

These changes are now availaible in the following versions:

PowerPac Version 5.4
Espro Version 1.4 

2Is the downloaded software the same as what is on a purchased CD? Top

Yes.

When purchasing software and electing to also purchase an installation CD, the installation files that you receive are the same as what are made available via the downloads page of our website.  We generally recommend using the downloadable software installations as often as possible as you can be assured of having the latest and most recent install files of any purchased software.  If required, you can place these files on your own CD for archiving purposes.

3What are the latest versions of the software? Top
The latest versions for each of our software packages is listed on the downloads page along with links to download full installations and file updates.
4How do I download and install the software? Top

Software can be downloaded from our website by selecting Products and then Downloads from the top menu of our website.  You can then select the product and version that you wish to download.  Some downloads require a username and password in order to proceed.  If you have purchased software and don't have the required username and password, please email us at support@spearhead.com.au with your contact and company name as well as the product and version you are trying to download.

5What is the difference between a minor and a major upgrade? Top

A minor upgrade contains minor modifications and feature enhancements within the current version as well as fixes to any issues that have been reported to us requiring attention. Minor upgrades are free to all users who have a current maintenance agreement.

A Major upgrade is a completely new version release of the software which would incorporate a large number of changes to the software in both appearance and functionality. PowerPac software would also require a major upgrade whenever the associated Australian Standards are superseded. Major upgrades are not free even for those users who have a current maintenance agreement; however users who do have a current agreement receive the upgrade at a hugely discounted rate.

7Where do I download the Licence Server drivers? Top

The Licence Server drivers are required to be installed on the PC or server where the software is being accessed from.  This is genereally installed as part of the installation process however if you elected not to install the licence server software or if you are installing an earlier version of our software that does not do this for you automatically you can download a zip file containing the licence server files.
